Fair Results

We had another great fair last week. We had Grand Champion bull with LEBC Morning Edition (a.k.a. Mo) our Gelbvieh bull. LEBC Glory Anne won her class as did LBSC Reba (Gretchen's calf for those of you that know Gretchen). They both went on to be Reserve Division Champion and Division Champion respectively. We won the Jr. Get with Glory Anne and her full sister Glory Belle and had the best four head in the All Other Breeds show.

Lynae also showed goats and was second in showmanship, and got third with a goat. We were pleased.

Nate just smiled at everyone all the way through the week. Look at how chubby his face is getting! He loves cereal and applesauce - green peas not so much.

On a work note: we had a good special showmanship class for youth with disabilities. NC Farm Bureau sponsored medallions and t-shirts for the kids and the fair provided ribbons. The youth showed market lambs weekend before last and beef cattle this weekend. Some of the kids wore their medallions all day long around the fair! Many of them will show again this Saturday at the State Fair.

We had a good showing of 4-H booths, a 4-H Christmas tree, and a nice 4-H display in the Farm Credit log cabin (thanks to my program assistant Amanda for pulling this together and to Farm Credit for loaning us the space). We are making lots of plans for our Centennial next year.

The kids are finally in bed and as soon as I finish my laundry I get to write my graduate paper that is 20% of my grade in this course (what am I thinking???). THEN I get to pack for the fair. (sigh)
