It's a ......

I know that everyone is just having a fit to know....

It's a.....

BOY!

Everything looked fine according to the ultrasound. All the measurements were good and there were definitely three cords in the umbical cord. They are leaving my due date at June 6 for now.

Jackson (Amy's dog) had surgery yesterday to remove the tumor from his right, front leg. Unfortunately that meant amputating that leg. He seemed to come out of the surgery okay and hoped to come home today.

Last Tuesday was a very eventful day. At 11:00 Dave's plant (Amy's husband) called a meeting and announced that they were closing the plant immediately. For now, Dave is job hunting and cattle farming.

Tuesday afternoon, Mama's dog Satin died as a result of kidney failure. Satin was a rescue dog that has had a lot of trauma in her life, including removal of one of her kidneys due to an infection. Her remaining kidney just couldn't carry the load. Mama is looking for a young (but not a puppy) dog that can possibly cuddle in the bed with her and stay outside during the day. It must like cats, kids and other dogs. She is looking on Petfinder.com and other websites.

I started graduate classes last night. The course this semester is "Foundations of Curriculum". Practically all 13 other people in the class are in a formal classroom setting so myself and Terri Bost (4-H Agent in Stokes Co.) get to educate them about curriculum in non-formal settings which should be fun (seriously)! The bad part is that the course is in Raleigh on Monday evenings.

It will be a busy week. My Sunday School class is cooking supper at church tomorrow night. Thursday our friend Callie leaves for the National Stock Show in Denver and we get to "Cricket" sit (that's Callie's dog). Friday, 4-H Agent Awards applications are due (I need professional development scholarship money) and Friday night and Saturday is the Winterfest Teen Lock-in. Whew.

Gotta run!

Thanks for the Cricket sitting. You might get something out of in the coming months. Well, something other than the love and affection of a little red dog for the next 5 days.
