Update

Hi guys. Daddy had an okay weekend. He was able to get out on the golf cart both yesterday and today for a short while and got to see all the new baby calves. It tired him out, but did him good too.

Neil and Lynae have gone back home and I am hanging out here until Kim gets off work tomorrow morning. In case you don't know, Kim is the wonderful nurse that took care of Granny and Papa (Daddy's parents) when they were sick. She became part of our family and has been renting their home and babysitting my nephew Braelyn. She stays with a lady on the weekends (that's the job that pays her bills).

(This part is a little gross so if you are squeamish don't read this paragraph.) The place on Daddy's chest where they put the chest tube in isn't healing. It is leaking fluid out of his chest. While it's good that the fluid is draining instead of pooling in his lungs, it should be going out of the chest tube. Daddy sounds really congested tonight as well. Hopefully the Hospice RN can get a good seal on the bandage tomorrow and that will help with the drainage.

Daddy has strength in his upper arms (thank goodness) so he is able to grab the bar that hangs over his bed and help himself roll over and move a little. He still requires help, but at least he can help us and not just be dead weight.

Thank you all for your cards, prayers and FOOD. At this rate I am going to put on a lot of weight during my pregnancy. I don't go back to the doctor until the week after Christmas and our ultrasound is scheduled for Jan. 14th. So far I am doing good.

We have been very blessed with lots of caring friends and neighbors - Thank you all!

Love - April
